This calibration certificate documents the traceability to national standards to realize the units of
measurement in accordance with the International System of Units (SI).
The Carl Zeiss Measurement and Calibration Center is a DKD laboratory accredited for the dimension length
(DKD-K-05201) and measured variables of geometric optics (DKD-K-05201) according to DIN EN ISO 17025.
The user is responsible for observing an appropriate time interval for repeating calibration.
This calibration certificate may be circulated only in complete and unaltered form. Extracts or changes are
subject to the express approval of the Measurement and Calibration Center. Unsigned calibration certificates
are not valid.

Calibration task
Length measuring uncertainty u (one dimensional uncertainty u1and three dimensional
uncertainty u3) was calibrated on the coordinate measuring machine.
Roundness form measurement error RONt (MZCI) was additionally calibrated for sensor systems
with scanning capability.
If a rotary table is installed, components Ut, Urand Uaof the 3D alpha measuring uncertainty were
calibrated, provided that this measurement wasordered.
If the Vi-SCAN optical probe system is installed, probing uncertainty R2 was calculated.
The coordinate measuring machine had the following configuration at the time of calibration:

Calibration procedure
Calibration of the metrological features of the coordinate measuring machine was performed
according to VDI/VDE 2617. The directives which were applied include sheet 2.1 (12.1986), sheet
2.2 (06.2000); if a rotary table is installed, sheets 4 (09.1989) and 6 (1997) and, for testing the
optical probe systems, sheet 6.1 (2007).
Length measurement uncertainties u were determined via mechanical probings on parallel or
stepped gauge blocks.
The roundness form measurement errors RONt (MZCI) were determined by measuring a
calibration ring in the scanning mode with D = 50 mm.
The components of the 3D alpha measuring uncertainty of the rotary table, Ut, Urand Ua, were
determined using two ceramic spheres with D = mm. The ceramic spheres were clamped with a
horizontal distance from the rotary axis of r = mm and a horizontal distance of D = mm as well as
a vertical distance of h = mm from each other.
Probing uncertainty R2 was determined using an optical calibration template.
The calibration is performed at the installation site specified on page 1.
In order to trace the measurement results to 20°C, the temperature compensation in the
measuringsoftware was activatedduring calibration andthe temperaturesof the coordinate
measuring machine and the respective test piece were sensed at the time of the relevant
measurements.
The standards used are specified in the relevant sections of the measurement result
documentation. Copies of the certificates of the standards used are attached to the calibration
certificate.
